Carbonaide is set for international growth – Deep Tech Accelerator funding granted for technology commercialization

We are happy to announce that Carbonaide has been selected as one of the 15 promising startups with international growth potential to receive funding in the Business Finland Deep tech Accelerator (DTA) program.

The aim of the Business Finland DTA funding is to promote the use of research results in business operations and to accelerate both market access and international growth.

“With this Deep Tech Accelerator funding, extendable up to 1.2M€, we can add more resources in the commercial activities. The moment is perfect, as the construction market is recovering in the EU and our technology has now been commercially proven. Given that Business Finland has in this funding call been focusing on companies capable of revolutionizing entire industries, receiving the DTA funding showcases our high market potential, ” says Tapio Vehmas, CEO of Carbonaide.

Carbonaide provides award-winning technology for utilizing and storing carbon dioxide in the precast concrete industry. Our mission is to turn concrete from a large emission source into a carbon sink.

The Carbonaide technology has been in use in concrete manufacturing since 2023. The first commercially available carbon-cured products utilizing Carbonaide’s precision curing technology were launched on the Finnish market last year. With the funding that we will receive during the first phase of the Business Finland program, we plan to speed up our commercial activities and will start the expansion to international markets.

In addition to the funding already secured from investors, Carbonaide also received earlier this year a grant of 570k€ from the Just Transition Fund (JTF) for the commercialization of the technology.

Carbonaide is expecting to expand the team internationally soon. We aim to utilize this added resource in the sales expansion of our technology for dry-pressed concrete products, while extending our portfolio to elemental structures during 2025.
